   I’m not well versed in ferns so I’m not gonna try to give advice on salvaging! But in terms of watering in general, I’ve found using this app as a general guide is good, but I still always still check soil moisture prior to watering. You might already know all of this so disregard if I’m just yapping for no reason lol. There’s so many factors that affect watering frequency (temp, humidity, light, pot size, soil mix, if you look at the plant the wrong way, etc 🤪). So even when the app says water, I use my finger to check the soil and decide for myself whether it needs it. Sometimes the app says to water and the soil is still very wet, sometimes I’m not meant to water for days and it is already dry as the desert. I’ve found that over time the schedule has gotten better and better based on me either snoozing the water alert or telling the app that I watered early!! I hope any of this is helpful 🌱

   I am not well versed either, but as long as there are some healthy roots (you cut off the rotting ones and repotted in a pot with an appropriate soil mix) and an alive branch or two - it will survive. One of my ferns suffered from a pest (and my executive dysfunction) for several months. I treated for the pest, cut off whatever was dead/damaged and it regrew healthy and green
