Hi! I have this fern (that turns out might not be a fern) that is sprouting flowers. I moved it to a sunnier location about two months ago and it has completely taken off for growth and I noticed these little guys on the end of one of its older ones. Does anyone know if this is normal? Does anyone know what kind of plant this is?
Looks like asparagus fern, which is in the asparagus family and not actually a fern :) They can withstand extremely harsh climates and grow like crazy, and for this reason are a devastating weed in some countries. They get prickly when you handle them so do take care - I learned the hard way last year when I had to maintain one growing at the rental I was living in. Gloves are good idea :)
