Hello all - I am desperately trying to keep my staghorn fern alive and looking for any solutions that may help. Iā€™ve had this plant for many years and itā€™s made several moves to different houses. I had it sitting in my house near a northern facing window and it was struggling. I assumed from too little light. About 3 weeks ago I moved it to my porch which faces east, and gets about 2 hour of sun a day through tree canopy. I still have large fronds that are falling off, which are yellow and darker brown at the base. Any ideas?!

    If its more light, it could have dried out too much.

    If it helps, I only use distilled water and mist mine every 3-5 days.

    I almost lost 2 stags that way. What worked for me is: immediately remove from terracota pot (water dries faster), move away from direct sun and reduce water quantity and increase frequency. Here is my second in recovery (about 5 months:)
