Any idea what might be causing this? The leaves are fading and getting these weird dry spots. The photos I have a rattlesnake plant right next to her and he’s really well. And yes, that is a fireplace behind her but we never use it and the chute is closed so there is no noticeable draft.
I have had so much trouble with calatheas and my current one is having a crisis now!! Please send advice 🌱

Hi everyone! About three months ago I got a variegated maranta leuconeura kershoveana. It seemed to be doing well for a while, and the variegation is still stunning, but now it seems like the leaves just keep getting smaller. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening? She lives in front of an eastern window and other than accidentally underwatering twice, she is usually watered with distilled water when 25% dry (and is in an airy mix that still has moisture retention). Thanks in advance, I really love this plant 😭
And here she is — this absolute f*ing QUEEN. All ten leaves she was pushing out at once have hardened off. Behold!! Her glory!! 😂😮💨💜💟💜
I am SO PROUD of this rattlesnake calathea. A month and a half ago it was absolutely on its deathbed, but instead of ditching it I went into crazy plant mama mode & did everything I could to save it. Now its remaining leaves are looking healthy, and it’s even put out two NEW leaves! I’m amazed at how doing some pruning, changing the lighting, & switching to distilled water has made such a difference. Thank you all for everything you post here—it’s been incredibly helpful! 💕

Bought this beautiful prayer plant from the clearance section at Lowe’s a while ago. She was in rough shape but has really made a come back.
Hey, I’m not sure what’s going on with my calathea. It just gave me a new leaf, but the other leaves are curled and drying. It gets a good amount of sun through the day. I water/fertilize by the app’s schedule. The first pic is on 5/15, and the second is now. Should I take it out and put it in water? Thanks for any tips!!
My prayer plant has been doing so good. A new leaf is finally unfurling but now this little one near the bottom turned yellow over night… what happened? Hasn’t been moved, watering schedule has stayed consistent… any insights?

Has anyone tried desk humidifier for Calathea/maranta, I only have one and winter gets really bad so I want to buy one but not too big\expensive. Do desk humidifier work for you?

hey friends! any idea on what this darkening could be on my prayer plant?? i recently repotted her & her roots are all healthy! there’s no pests or anything & she keeps popping up with flowers. but within the past week i’ve noticed this darkening on the stem & im at a loss.
Hey guys, just wondering what the cause and treatment for these little brown yellow spots on my mosaic calathea could be? Thankfully, there’s not too many and they seem to be mostly on the shorter and smaller leaves. Anything helps! 🪴
I purchased my very first calathea a few weeks ago. It was doing very well until I noticed it had thrips (I’m pretty sure it had them when I bought the plant). I ended up killing the calathea by trying to get rid of the thrips. I was just wondering where the best place to get a new calathea would be. Are there any good online places to get one?
