Would anybody here be able to help me identify this plant? I think it might be a Calathea “Beauty Star” but not sure. Anyway, it tends to furl in its leaves during the day and then spreads them out again in the evening. Normal behaviour? Thank you
My rattlesnake plant must be very happy ❤️ six new leaves after only a week of getting her! I woke up this morning to #6 finally unfurling 😊 I can’t wait to see what she looks like in a month
my first calathea..!!!! i’m so excited! i pruned some old yellowing leaves and wiped the rest of the leaves to clean off some dust, and now she’s quarantining in my living room… if anyone has any tips i’d love to hear them!
I am new to this group- I have had some prayer plants that have done well and others that are dying and have three leaves. I am wondering if people have any general tips that can be shared to help that are general. For example… I don’t know what everyone are talking about with crispy leaves- do I trim those brown spots on the leaves? I have some in water pots which seem to be working a bit but is that a bad idea? Thank you so much!

Wait, why does it say you don’t need to fertilize your rattlesnake plant? I’ve never heard that before.

“Repotted” this Calathea Musaica back into the same pot I took it out of because the soil it came in didn’t drain well enough, but the plant wasn’t root bound yet. 9days later I’m being repaid with 3 new leaves sprouting up!! So excited!

Ordered this Calathea White Fusion online.. it came here in pretty bad shape with half its leaves having damage. I decided not to waste the plant and send it back to them (surely to arrive dead) but now I have this struggling plant on my hands. In general, is there anything you all would try to do to reduce stress on this little guy and help him start making new leaves again? I know one day I can get him looking great.. just not going to be incredibly soon
Had her for about 3 years now…just repotted 3 weeks ago, she took to the new pot like nothing 👍🏽
Would love all your tips on keeping those crispy tips at bay! This guy loves life, but still gets them more than I wish he did. I try to keep him above 50% humidity and mist about once a week. Any other tips?

Hello! Yesterday I bought this calathea I believe and it was in a bowl of water, some leaves look weird. I’m new to the plant community so I don’t know what it could be. If someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Huh, first post I guess! Anyway, anyone know what might be the cause of the faded color on the leaves of my rattlesnake plant? It’s not on all the leaves and it’s not progressing very fast but I assume whatever it is it’s not good. Ps, don’t mind his scraggly-ness, he’s a rescue.
