I got this Prayer Plant this past Spring. I was excited to put it in this hanging macrame holder but I think I jumped the gun and the pot is too big. I have gotten a few new leaves but I keep losing the old ones. Currently the one in the back is turning yellow. I recently removed a plastic liner I originally left inside this pot. I wanted drainage so I took the plant out, removed the liner, opened the drainage hole, and put back in the pot. Do you think it’s ok to move this to a small er pot now?

Hey! I rescued this calathea about 2 weeks ago now and I just saw the old leaves were moulding, i removed them, then i noticed this! It does look a little crrrisp on top, however the stem looks so much healthier, does this leaf have a chance? i’m stressed about it rotting on the final healthy leaf! plus, I don’t want to get my hopes up for a gone leaf, Lol. Also, if all the leaves die, is there a way of propagating what remains? The roots seemed relatively healthy, despite what is happening on the top Lol!

Is this because I haven’t been using distilled water? 😂 I got a water filter so I can only use that going forward and see if it helps. Will these brown spots heal tho, or are they permanent?

Having trouble with this guy, any tips?

first time plant mom & I decided to get this baby. Any tips on keeping her alive and well?

Calathea 🆘. I have moved my calathea further from the window and started to get some returning pink and less bleached leaves so I think it is happy light wise. After a rookie mistake of watering it with tap water a couple times when I first got it I’ve been watering it with distilled water for the last few months. I’m still losing leaves and have a lot of brown/crispy looking parts. What do I prune? Is this just normal life cycle or am I still missing something? I just want the beautiful leaves 😍 (bonus puppy toe beans and snoot 🐶❤️🍃)

I discovered some flower spikes about a week and a half ago. First it was just one. Now I have 3! The picture only shows 2, the third one is on the other side of the plant and looks to be dying off now. It was the first flower spike I got.

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice on an issue with my prayer plant. She’s recently started browning at the tips and I’m not sure why :( I water regularly about once per week and mist her regularly as well. She’s still producing new leaves consistently but then they start to brown. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

i’m totally inexperienced with this plant (impulse buy in march). i just learned today that they’re sensitive to hard water, too much light(?), and low humidity. 😩 so did i speed up an inevitable death or is she just being dramatic? what exactly causes the leaves to curl upwards like this?

I’m a bit unsure about my Stromanthe Triostar. It pushed out one new leaf since I got it, another is on the way, many new roots, and two new rhizomes. However, some of the roots seem to rot anyways, two leaves are yellowing, and I’ve found two mealy bugs. I have it in a mix that is 2/3 coco coir 1/6 perlite and 1/6 coco chips. Am I doing something wrong? I’m using distilled water and watering when it’s 2/3 ish dry. I don’t think the root rot is due to drying out too much though because the roots are kinda mushy and melting at the ends. But once again, the plant seems otherwise happy. The only reason I know about the minimal rot is because it’s in a clear pot. It’s right in front of an eastern window but has some light blocked because it’s over to the far side. What should I do???

Hi all, I’ve bought my plant around 2-3 weeks ago and although the tag says to water it 2x a week, Planta app said it should be every 12 days, so I’ve been keeping an eye on it so it’s not too dry. I’ve noticed however a few yellow leaves and even with the infrequent watering (making sure the soil is not damp), Planta app said i’ve overwatered my plant. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case?
