I have 3 prayer plants. The lemon-lime is a month older in my space than the other two that were in a funeral arrangement for my dad— so I really want to take care of them, but they aren’t thriving like the lemon-lime and I’m not sure what to do. Shouldn’t still be shock because I’ve had them here since 4/22. I separated them into their own pots a week later. The one in the disco ball was just green but the new leaves that have come have the wine-colored markings which I think is good… but still yellow/brown edges on the old leaves… and the fishbone too. Switching to distilled but what else could be the problem (also north facing so using grow lights). Help please!

Has anyone had their prayer plant creep/crawl?? I’ve had mine a couple years and a few months ago she really started leaning out of her pot. I noticed a tendril/root (???) so I set a new pot under her leaves. She is growing more of these tendrils/roots but none are holding her down to the pot. I still have her main stem in the other pot. Do I cut her old stem and vacate her from her old pot altogether? Is she destined to just be a diva and have two pots? I know she’s happy because she has been flowering every day for a few weeks now.

hello! very new to plants and i received this prayer plant from my grandmother’s funeral. i overwatered her (her pot was too big!) is this pot too big as well? (5inches) her roots are super small. also, how long should i wait until i water her again? i didnt water after repotting it.

Hi friends! I love prayer plants and recently found a variegated rabbits foot and a "fantasy" maranta. Any other cool variations I should know about? 🥰

Okay so I thought she was thriving. But some of her bottom leaves are yellowing and dying. Crispy tips. She gets good lighting, humidity is typically not an issue. I only water with rain water. There are times I may get out of routine and she gets a little dryer between watering then she’d like. The leaves are all older ones on the bottom, new growth all good. I’m just trying to check here. Does she look as healthy as I think and it’s just old leaves dying and I’m overthinking it? Is she just giving me a little maranta attitude to keep me in check with her watering? Or is this a warning of impending doom and I need to go in save the diva mode? TIA

I just brought home a lemon lime maranta… I’m terrified after hearing horror stories. Also the plant store potted it directly in this pot. I’ve been told that’s a no no… should I repot it into a nursery pot asap or will that shock her? Help me… she’s so pretty. Any tips are appreciated!

Does my new calathea seem unwell? She’s not as vibrant (?). I brought her home about 2 weeks ago!

Shes trying to crawl out of her pot for the second time this year!? I keep her in our bathroom with filtered light. Reservoir of distilled water and a couple of drops of hydroponic fertilizer every few months.

My plant is about five years old and it was just starting to look droopy and stay wet for too long and new growth featured a lot of soft brown. Since it hangs from the ceiling, I don’t wanna just get bigger and bigger pots and put a lot of stress on the ceiling bolts. I took a look and it was starting to look root bound, and I’m sure there were no nutrients left in the soil. My original potting medium five years ago was just straight dirt. So I kept the root ball somewhat intact, but added cactus mix and orchid bark and some moss. Getting it in and out of that macramé hanger and downstairs and out of the pot by myself was a chore, and I was actually doing really good until it came to putting it back up on the hanger. I had to put a splint on one that started snapping and a whole other big branch broke off AS I WAS REHANGING IT and I had to plant it back in the dirt and hope it takes root cause it’s just way too big to propagate in a jar. The other four propagations I had going, two ended up in here a while back and two ended up in another pot. Ugh. I hate how it looks so uneven compared to my memories of it, especially with the one branch sticking straight up on the splint but I hope it’ll fan out in time. Google basically said like yeah that’s gonna happen because the branches are heavy. It does crack me up how big the mature leaves are compared with the propagation ones. 😂

It’s astonishing to look at old photos and go “oh yeah, I guess you HAVE grown!” 🤣

Some of my new leaves have bald skinny spots on them. Does anyone know what this could be? I’ve seen it on my rattlesnake calathea and on one of my alocasias

First flower! 🥰 I didn't think I'd be one of those people lucky enough to get one on my plant lol. There's only one though! How can I get more? Is it pretty normal for just one bloom?

It’s blooming

My red prayer plant has 2 new leaves coming in. This is my first one, and I’m still figuring out how to take care of her. One day her leaves are pointed down, the next they’re raised. I think it has to do with either light or water but I haven’t figured it out yet.

HELP!! My baby got some pretty bad root rot over the winter, I had to dead head all but two of her leaves to stop it from spreading and transplanted her into a new thermal pot to help in the cold weather. It’s spring now and she has grown two newer leaves and is sprouting a third. She seems to just have one long stem, should I cut the new growth and try to propagate it or leave her to recover and grow? She looks very awkward right now
