    What are its lighting/watering/humidity conditions? Why was it repotted?

    Next to a south facing window .. so indirect light, it’s like 1- 2 feet from window .. I have it programmed into my app here on Planta so it says water every 2 wks… the girl I bought from repotted bc she didn’t wanna sell it in her good pot …

      1-2 feet from a southeast window sounds like a lot of direct sun. Do have sheer curtains to help diffuse the light? Also that pot looks really big for the plant, and the soil looks like it’s just a standard potting soil which isn’t recommended for prayer plants. They like well draining soil. I have all my prayer plants in a 50/50isb mix of potting soil and perlite.

    the person who sold this to you was either not very knowledgeable, or lazy… the pot looks way too big, and the soil much too dense. repotting before/during an environment change can also cause severe stress in some plants. maranta appreciate a well draining soil and bright, indirect light, some gentler direct light is okay. it might be in too bright of a spot. since it hasn’t recovered at all in the time it’s been home, i’d recommend checking the roots for rot and repotting if necessary. if they’re rotten: gently shake away as much excess dirt as possible, trim 1” above the rotten parts of each root, spray with undiluted (3%, topical) hydrogen peroxide, and repot in a chunky, airy mix. if your home has particularly dry air that could also be stressing the plant. prayer plants need high humidity (at least 50%) in order to thrive
