Meet Tex 🐍💚 — my very first Calathea lancifolia (aka Rattlesnake Plant) and honestly one of the plants that made me fall in love with plant parenting. I brought Tex home a year and a half ago, not knowing much about houseplants, just hoping I could keep those beautiful rattlesnake-patterned leaves alive - this little guy has been thriving ever since. 🌿 For a plant with such striking patterned leaves, Tex has been surprisingly hardy and forgiving — a true survivor and a constant reminder of why I fell in love with houseplants in the first place. Since then, Tex has been through all my beginner mistakes — overwatering, underwatering, moving spots too many times — and yet he’s still here, thriving and growing alongside me. 🌿 Every new leaf feels like a little victory, a reminder that patience and care really do pay off. It might sound silly, but this little plant has taught me so much about nurturing, slowing down, and finding joy in small growth. Named after Texas rattlesnakes, but to me he’s a symbol of resilience and steady strength. 🐍💚 Here’s to Tex, my hardy little survivor and the plant that started it all. 🌱✨ Hoping for many more years with Tex keeping the jungle vibes alive indoors.
