I have a rooted red maranta... I'm in zone 6B, should I wait until spring to plant it? Well, I also have a lime one that I think it's rooted (it doesn't look like the red one for the most part, but maybe it's because of different cutting time? 🤷♀️
If you mean planted in the ground, maranta can't survive our harsh winters here in 6b. They should be potted and brought inside for winter. If you just mean planting in a pot, I personally don't wait until spring. Once the cutting's roots are about 2-3 inches long and they have secondary roots, I pot them up. Just remember to put them in a pot that matches the size of the roots!

0개 좋아요 No need to apologize! We were all new once 😊 They should do well in any potting soil with added porous material (perlite, pumice, or similar). Mine is in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Bonsai Jack's Gritty Mix at a 3:1 ratio (I don't like how large amounts of perlite in pots looks aesthetically, so I use the gritty mix instead lol)
좋아요 1개 Ok, I planted it last night in a tropical mix. She's having trmper tantrum rn and was all hung over (tilted) this morning. Any suggestions on how to clean the stalks from all the brown dried up shoots? Or do I leave them like that?
