so Iāve had this maranta since september 2021 and she looks like sheās thriving at the moment. My problem is that sheās so top heavy and has just one thin stem so nearly the entire plant is falling over the edge of the pot. It also looks like sheās getting a lot of new growth or something in here? whatās my best course of action?
I had the issue of one stem really outgrowing the rest. I cut two sections from it - something like three leaves, stem, node - with the cut being about a half inch below the node. I put the cuttings right in filtered water, one of them already has roots growing and itās only been a week! There should be some decent YouTube videos on propagating prayer plants. Once your cuttings have good roots youāll be able to fill out the pot, thatās my plan at least āŗļøāŗļø

Iāve had mine for about two years also, and I would recommend chopping and propping it- they grow so fast and propagate super quickly. If you donāt want to chop it, you can also try bending some of these nodes around to go back into the soil and theyāll typically root. I do both of these things regularly with mine to make it fuller.

I would recommend propagating some cuttings in water. Since they grow so quickly itās actually a good one to practice propagating if youāve never tried propagating before :) I did this when my prayer plant was really unhinged this fall/early winter and ran out of people to give them to after a lot of them survived my first trial!
2 gillningar I separated them at the root at one point as well and I keep letting this one get taller and taller. I just noticed the other day that a little baby is growing out of the dirt at the base so I think sheās gonna get crazy this summer š¤Ŗ
