Hey planty people, I’ve been trying to rehab my moms Goeppertia orbifolia, but since being in my care she’s pushed 2 damaged leaves, and is working on another. I moved her into higher humidity and still the newest leaf is coming out with black tips😭😭😭😭 I’ve recently started treating the water with API stress coat, and fertilizing her with every watering. She’s gets some good partial sun in the late afternoon, all day ambient (in a shady part of the room), and she’s in her own display box for humidity. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙁

    Have you checked the soil and roots? When new growth comes out with black tips, it may indicate root rot.

    They are very sensitive to fertilizer and that may be too much for her.

    I recently went through this with mine. I was convinced that it was totally dead. But I did not want to give up on it so I shook all the soil off and cleaned off any dead roots I found. I re-potted it and a chunky soil mix, watered it one time and put it in a shady location on my front porch. I started with 2 cups miracle grow indoor potting soil, 2 cups orchid bark, and 1 cup perlite. No extra fertilizer. As new leaves appeared, I watered it sparingly. I am happy to say it is making a wonderful recovery. The current mystery is that when I purchased it, it was about a foot tall, but when the leave started to come back, they are only a few inches tall. I’m not sure if this is normal.

    Evening sun is quite a bit harsher then morning sun, maybe try to get her sun in earlier in the day.
