Help!! I made a post a few weeks ago explaining that my plant had a few leaves turn brown. Somebody suggested that the plant was too dry. Since then, I moved it out of the drafty room into a different one. The browning of the leaves has continued, and it looks like I’m about to loose an entire stem to the plant.
Keep out of direct sunlight and place in bright indirect sunlight and most importantly and the cause of browning is the low humidity, you need to increase it, because they require high humidity to thrive and not brown.

0개 좋아요The humidity in my apartment is extremely high and I also keep a pebble tray under the plant.
0개 좋아요 If that’s the case then you are over watering it and maybe you should switch to rain or distilled water, because the water you’re using may contain harmful chemicals for your prayer plant, I mean if you use tap water(this second advice should only be used if it is what you’re doing).

I wouldn’t expect humidity issues to cause this either way, nor would tap water. And I’m guessing you’ve done a pest check
좋아요 1개 Are there any leaves that are only partially brown or do they go brown uniformly? If there are any that are more intermediate that would help. More info on the potting mix and when it was repotted would help as well. It looks from the pictures like it’s got a good amount of room in the pot; is that right?
좋아요 1개They start to turn light green and then turn brown. But this happens pretty quickly. As for repotting, I panicked and repotted it last week. I did not change the pot size, just moved it from a ceramic pot to a clear, plastic nursery pot. I rinsed off all of the roots and started with fresh new potting soil. Miracle grow indoor potting mix is what most of my plants are in at this point. There is also plenty of room in the pot. I attached a photo to show how the leaves turn.
I have a different cultivator of the same prayer plant species and it is most likely a overwatering problem or chemical the water that harms the plant.
좋아요 1개 Were the roots healthy when you rinsed them off? Did you note any rhizomes (potatoes) during the repot, and if so were they firm or soft?

0개 좋아요A pebble tray is just a shallow dish filled with stones and water. It’s to help with humidity. I use a pie dish.
