Hi, I’m at first time plant mom and purchased a couple of prayer plants. The company shipped me replacement plants, but they look like small nursery plants. I plan to repot them because I feel like they will outgrow this pot pretty soon. What pot size should I purchase so that it has room to grow but not so big that they begin to die? Also any recommendations on soil type? I’ve never repotted a plant before.
They have a lot more growing before they need to be repotted in my opinion. Make sure to use ONLY distilled water to water and mist. They don’t even like filtered water that much. Also, I mist mine every day. They like indirect light. Mine is under a grow light and is loving life. Good luck! They are beautiful plants. 💚

I agree that they don’t look like they need potted up but if the soil is regular potting soil you may want to repot them back in their pots with a chunkier mix. You could add things to potting soil like perlite or orchid bark or use a cactus or succulent mix. I grow mine in a mix of perlite, peat moss, and worm castings and they do alright. They are beautiful! Good luck.🍀

1 mi piaceDon’t repot based on “room to grow” instead repot when the roots take up at least 50% of the soil or if you are needing to water more than 1-2x per week. When you do, you choose a pot that is 1 or 2 inches larger around than the root ball.
