What’s happening to her 🥺 planta says thrips likely but I don’t see ANY. Or overwatered but I’ve watered per schedule, maybe not enough sun? Should I take it out of its decorative pot? helppp please!

elderxemoIt could be a few things. Low humidity, too much direct sunlight and watering. Do you use filtered/distilled water? There seems to be some sort of white residue on the leaves. Which makes me think tap water.

I actually use rain water and liquid fertilizer per planta schedule. The white residue was definitely there when I got her several months ago, I tried to wipe off and it stays so I think that’s from the beginning on older leaves. I use distilled water in my humidifier, I could maybe get her closer to my humidifier. Would this suggest too much direct light or not enough? It’s a north/east facing window

happysoxdonkeyDoes the pot have drainage? Yes maybe take her out and make sure it dries out enough between watering. The schedule they give you might not be quite right so test the soil before you water. Also if you water by pouring from the top try bottom watering. Maybe too harsh sunlight? Maybe back her up a little from the window?

It has drainage yes. I’m going to take her out of the decorative pot and problem solve with lighting a little. It’s in a clear plastic pot so i can keep an eye on soil levels a little better. I have a moisture meter but i tend to eye ball it with moisture and stay with the scheduler; i get too busy and too reliant on other things 😅 I’ll keep a closer eye on it.

I’m no expert, but I think you could remove 2-3 of the worst leaves and it otherwise looks pretty healthy. I have two rattlesnakes and I just remove a leaf if it doesn’t look good and the plants are both doing well
