Update on my Calathea: It’s definitely not dead! New leaves are slowly growing. I’m just not sure what to do with the old, sad leaves. I tried pruning the crispy bits off as per some advice I got from YouTube but now they’re still curling and crisping even more. Should I cut off the whole leaves or leave them because parts are obviously still photosynthesizing? Any advice?
what kind of water are you using? i treat water for my prayer plants with an aquarium water conditioner to minimize chlorine and heavy metals. many people will recommend distilled or rain water though

Did you ever figure out what the problem was. My fear is the the new growth will eventually just look like the older leaves.
0件のいいね I think I just overwatered? But I’m a lot more careful about it now. I just want the plant to have maximum energy to give the new growth and since I know leaves don’t heal I’m trying to figure out if just chopping them off might help the new growth. If the new growth looks as bad as the old leaves then I’ll reassess my current care plan. I hope that makes sense.
いいね 1件 I use regular tap water for my calathea. And they are fine. I was getting some crispy eggs but moved it out of direct sunlight. I keep them just close enough to a south facing window that they get bright light but far enough back so they are not exposed to direct sun rays. I keep them in a chunky mix because they are super thirsty and I don’t want root rot but I don’t let them ever dry out completely. I mist the at least once between watering as a precaution but I’m trying to ween them off of the misting. And they are not near a vent. Now back in the day I killed these same exact plants. Well not totally killed. They looked like yours and I gave up because I was frustrated. But my current care plan seems to be working.
