EDIT: okay story time, I’ll try to keep it short lol. I used to bottom water her until one day I fell asleep & she was sitting in water for hours. I didn’t water her fully for over a week after that bc I wanted the soil to dry out. It’s been about a month and a half since that’s happened & it just seems like the soil is really moist on the inside. I stuck my finger about 2 inches in the soil (haven’t watered her in about 9 days atp) & it was still moist there. So basically I’m wondering if I should remove some soil to look at her roots & repot with new soil orrr if that’s not a good idea bc she will just get stressed & im overreacting since she still looks okay & is putting out new growth so this shall pass? Can someone tell me if this means I overwatered her or if this means she might have root rot? I’m worried about depotting her to check bc she’s a drama queen lol she’s still putting off new leaves but they aren’t as green, one kind of looks yellowish. HELP SHES MY BABY GIRL

    Forgot to mention: I live in FL & the temp has been very up & down recently. Could that possibly explain why she’s throwing a fit? Lol

      I did leave the blinds open one night & that’s a south/east facing window so the sun was directly on her the next morning. I think that’s what happened to the leaf I cut off. The other leaves tho, those are indicators for watering issues?

    Yeah, I would check the roots if the medium hasnt dried out over a week later. If the medium is swampy, I would repot with a chunkier medium with extra perlite or sphagnum moss added to aerate the medium and help with water drainage. The yellow leaves won’t recover, but you can correct the issue new for future new growth

      I did end up removing her from the pit to check & her roots are actually healthy but the soil was definitely too wet. I removed as much wet soil without disturbing the root ball too much & added dry soil. I misted the top soil but I didn’t want to water her bc the root ball was still pretty damp so I’ll give it a day or so before I water her. Thank you for the advice!

      Perfect. That’s exactly what I would have done. Give it plenty of light and it should bounce back in a couple weeks. Good luck!
