My Calathea crew - illustris, rosy and medallion. I bought the Medallion from Home Depot and recently noticed almost all the leaves were sagging. It turned out the soil (I think it’s peat) had become resistant to absorbing water. I’ve had this problem with a couple other plants I bought there over the summer and each time I didn’t notice until they were completely wilted. I should really get in the habit of repotting their plants once I bring them home.
Mine was doing so good then just started to crisp do you think I can save it ?
Have you checked it for pests? I find my calatheas are really susceptible to pests so I make a habit of regularly rinsing the leaves and spraying the leaves and soil with neem oil mixture. Maybe once a month at least? Maybe also make sure it’s getting enough water and humidity. If not, that might cause crispiness. If it was under watered the leaves would be turning saggy first, so I think it’s either pests or lack of water/humidity.
いいね 1件 I try to water it once a week or when the top of the soil is dry , I have checked for pest and there are none. I think I’ll get a mini greenhouse for it so it can be in a humid environment because I tried to spray it when I first got it an it started to crisp so I stopped and it was looking good but started up again I might have to get another one I’m not sure if I can save it, thanks
