i am a greenhouse and grow light newb. what is consider bright indirect light with grow lights? i understand distance from the light plays a factor but at what distance is the light considered direct/indirect, bright/low light? here’s a picture of my cabinet from a week or so ago, has since been reorganized due to some sun damage on leaves 😅
5,000k is about normal for indirect bright light. 10,000 Kelvin would be like very bright 🌞 . Lower light needs would be around 3,000k. You'll also want to factor in the spectrum. The distance should ideally be 12-14" away.
1 like If you put new or brighter lights in. Even if they plants say want direct light. They will still often burn. You need to harden them off to light changes. For that, what I do is lower the timer on the light... say 4-6 hrs on for several days, then 8hrs, then 10hrs, then 12, 14, 16. I generally have my grow lights on 14-16 hrs. In spring summer and 12-14 in fall winter. (With a few caveats).

The mojito will likely burn that close to the light. I just had the same issue. I can’t quite tell how high the purple scallop pot is but you could probably switch those two and be good! Or move it to the left and move the two smaller ones next to it over where it used to be!
1 like the mojito is the one i found damage on 😭 makes me sad as shes one of my favorites but i moved her to the bottom of the cabinet
0 likes I move my “lower light plants” like aglaonema into the “shade” of a taller plant in my cabinet. I do have a dwarf ag though so it’s easier to push to the side

1 like my husband is getting me more lights (and possibly another cabinet) for christmas so hopefully they all won’t look so crowded once spread out. i don’t mind working through trial and error but the damage hurts my heart
1 like I have strip leds in mine and I put electrical tape over the light every few inches so it’s a bit dimmer, since they don’t have different settings
