Any suggestions on how to prevent my cats from chewing on the leaves? Of course I have all safe plants in the areas they access, but I would love to prevent my calathea orbifolia from becoming completely demolished if I can help it. I’ve seen stuff on Google about spritzing with citrus or vinegar, using chili powder, etc but wanted some insight on if these are good ideas or if I’ll just be wasting my time or even harming the plant. Thank you 😊

So I want to get a little pothos or a Chinese money plant but they’re both toxic to pets and my cat lives with me in a dorm with 3 roommates. He’s been pretty good about not eating my plants but I’m worried these are more leafy and he might bite them. Is it safe to have them and keep them out of reach from him or should I just get something else? He’s ten and pretty mellow so he really usually doesn’t get hyper and chomp on em I’m just a bit worried since these are toxic.

Hi friends! I want to get into taking care of plants and having some greenery in my space. I have 3 cats and while I know some plants are toxic to cats, I’m unsure of which ones…if anyone could give some tips and names of plants to avoid bringing in the home, that would be great:)

Hoping for some recommendations from this group. :) We have three dogs, two of which are big dogs and very sloppy drinkers. Despite having their water bowl on a tray on a rug, they still dribble everywhere. I’m considering making a “water bowl planter” similar to the pics I’ve added here. I’m hopeful their curiosity about the plants will cause them to linger long enough to dribble there. :P Many of the examples I’ve found seem to use succulents but I’d like a leafier mix of pet safe plants, ideally mixing up heights, colors, and textures. Which are your favorites? (Photo of my sad little water bowl plus examples of “water bowl planters” found online.)

I moved to Klamath Falls in 2021 and the summer is perfect for me because it’s a amazing time to grow fruit
