Hi everyone, I have been pruning my large bird of paradise and have discovered that ants are inside of the dying stems. Do I need to be worried about this? Could it be the cause of the dead limbs? For context it was been incredibly hot where I live so I assumed the curling leaves and dying flowers was a result of the heat. I have also noticed other bird of paradise around my town looking the same. Thanks!

Recently just got Tia, my aralia ivy and my cat has an obsession with her. I usually keep my plant room door closed because he likes to start fights with all of them cause they took his spot in the windowsill, but we had a guest last night and he didn’t know to keep the door closed. This is the aftermath. I’m not sure if my cat ate any, but I do know they are toxic to cats. He had been acting like he got ahold of some catnip, but he’s an orange cat so he acts like that most of the time... I’m also not sure on what to do about the Tia. I repotted her in some seed starter (was in nursery soil before) and I haven’t watered her yet. I attached a picture of her before I repotted her the first time, and now the aftermath of my kitty. Any help is appreciated!!

Can I get an opinion on if I need to get rid of my monstera plant. I just got a kitten and have read that these are mildly toxic to cats. Are there any safe and gentle ways to train the cat to not eat the plant?

I’m a long time cat owner who is just recently really starting to get into plants. So far all of the plants I have brought home I have made sure are cat friendly and the kitties tend to leave them alone. I have been really wanting to get a monstera but know that they are toxic to cats. Based on the research I have done it just causes them to throw up. Are there any cat owners with monstera plants that can share their experience?
