Does anyone have any tips for how to keep my kitties from chewing my Chinese Evergreen? They have absolutely annihilated her🥲

    With it being so toxic to pets, my suggestion would be to put it where she can’t get it.

      Agreed, I am not sure how agile your cats are, but you should consider finding a spot they can’t climb to or rehoming the plant and get some pet friendly plants instead.

      Okay thank you!!! It was a gift from a friend so I didn’t realize it was so toxic

      It gets tricky! All the Chinese evergreens and Pothos are toxic. Really stinks. I have some up high so no one can get to them. Mostly I keep Hoyas and Peperomias where it could be a risk. Those are ok. Welcome to having plants and pets. Always checking and being paranoid, lol

    To deter your cat from future nibbling and if you can’t just put the plant up high, spraying diluted orange water on the leaves may help (boil some orange peels in a pot of water and let it cool, then pour it in a spray bottle- it’ll also make your house smell nice!). Also perhaps grow a sacrificial plant, like cat grass or cat nip, and let kitty chew on that.

      Good idea, thanks! I tried lemon water but i think i didnt put enough lemon juice in it so they just continued to nibble
