Any plant suggestions for someone with a cat who has single-handedly killed every plant I’ve ever owned? 🥰 Currently have a spider plant and baby tears that are respectively hanging and placed out of reach, but I don’t have much more space in places she can’t get to. Pic of the criminal for attention
I usually would put foil over the soil so my cats can’t get to it

0 Me gusta I’ve sprayed the plant with like part essential oil and part water bc I heard that it works as a repellent and eventually she just stopped messing with them

Tin foil on the table the plants are on is supposed to help. It scares them when they jump on it. Or giving them cat grass as a substitute so every time you catch her with your plants, bring her back to the cat grass

I put foil on the soil in the large pots i have near windows, but the leaves are tall enough my kitty can’t get to them. For smaller plants, i had to put them on top of an armoire. It’s the only thing tall enough that she can’t find some way to jump up there. And bonus is i have a little mini jungle!

What I do is if my cats get near the plants I spray them with compressed air. It does no harm to them but it scares them into running away, eventually they will associate the plants with the air and they’ll leave them alone.

My cats used to do this! Every time I came home with a new plant, they assumed it was a treat for them. I ended up taking the plants and moving them all to my bathroom window area and shutting the bathroom door. The plants were kept there for a few weeks, then I slowly brought them back to their usual spot and now the cats couldn’t care less about them.
