Hi everyone! I really want to turn my home into a beautiful little jungle but as you can see I have these two on my hands. What are some of the safest plants to get for cats and how do I keep them from destroying them? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽
Spider Plants are a good option. They are not toxic, they are beautiful and send off gorgeous flowers. They can be kept inside or outside. They are also very easy to take care of.

Try getting some cat grass They love it, hopefully they will love it more then your other plants

I second that. I have a few peperomia. They come in a lot of varieties and their leaves are succulent in nature, making them very low maintenance. This is my watermelon peperomia
And this is my variegated peperomia obtusifolia “sweet and sour”
It’s going to be hard to keep them away at that age 😅 Kittens are always so curious and impossibly rambunctious! Pet-safe plants will be a must. But I hesitate to offer advice about keeping them away. I usually say hanging plants for people who have old cats and other pets that don’t climb. But kittens will bounce off the walls to get to a hanging plant 😅

I would also suggest cast iron plants. They’re super beginner friendly and safe for cats. They also come in a few different varieties. Here is my Milky Way cast iron plant. I also love Hoyas. Most of them are cat safe. I would look up the specific ones before purchasing.

You already know... but cats... they do what they want to do .. 🥹 (I have two that loves chomping on plants) Any calatheas, any echeverias, any hoyas, any peperomias, pachira trees, and table palms are safe for cats and dogs. No lily flowers whatsoever for the cats especially, very very toxic. I found that they are more likely to nibble if the leaves are thinner. Your furbabies are so cute. I can't stop looking at them. 🥹 Let me know if you are curious about anything, my plant hobby literally orbits around cat safety 🥹🥹🥹

I’m a succulent lover, so I always suggest Echeveria and Sedum. They have so many varieties!

I found that anything stringy looking like spider plants or ferns my cats were more interested in and have chewed/knocked over more. My snake plant, rubber tree, Swedish ivy, cactus and orchid they have left alone for the most part!

Pretty sure snake plants are toxic to cats, just fyi. I know you said your cats are leaving them alone, but I know mine wouldn’t. I want one so bad but I’m afraid to buy one.
0개 좋아요 It can be mildly toxic yes but wouldn’t kill them! If your babies are prone to messing with your plants though you’d have to elevate it or try other ways to deter them!

GAHHH ADORABLE!!!! I suggest high shelves, hanging your plants, or keeping them behind closed doors, I also have two little monsters of almost exactly the same Colors as yours
