Hi everyone! I really want to turn my home into a beautiful little jungle but as you can see I have these two on my hands. What are some of the safest plants to get for cats and how do I keep them from destroying them? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽
This is a cute picture, haha. My cat also likes to eat everything. I keep my plants up on shelves on the walls, in hanging baskets in windows, and I have a few little greenhouse things the cats can’t get into. I also only get plants that are non-toxic. I searched through Pinterest to find websites for cat friendly houseplants. I have a spider plant, a Hoya, a nerve plant, a curly lipstick, a Chinese money plant, and a prayer plant. Theres a good variety that are non toxic to cats, you just have to research which ones meet the lighting conditions you have and figure out a clever way to keep them away.

0 Me gusta I thought my girls would be more aggressive with the plants but they only inspect when plants are first purchased. They used to dig in the soil of my old money tree, but I think it may have been because it may have an a soil infestation or they were bored (after this and some other bad behavior, I started playing with them at least twice a day for 5-15 mins before meals and their negative behaviors are gone! A cat behaviorist on the show “My cat from hell” mentioned most house cats are bored out of their minds and playing before meals satisfies their "hunt, catch, kill" instincts.) I’ve also found that having a “top dressing” on my house plants helps deter them from playing/napping in it. Plus it also helps keep some pests out.
