Hello! I moved into an apartment in Florida from Seattle about a year ago. I had to rehome all of my plants in Seattle. I decided that I was going to buy some plants at the start of May. I now have 28 plants!! OMG, what have I done? I have two cats that like to eat plants. You name it, and they will eat it— even cacti! Truth. They bit off all the tips on my zebra plant. In Seattle, I resorted to cages around the plants. I want to show off my plants (without cages) and protect cats. I have macrame hangars, and I thought about floating shelves. Any suggestions to keep plants out of the way? I appreciate your thoughts! I gave them their plant cat grass and tried lemon juice and hot pepper. I have the pothos on the refrigerator; they made it up there. They love toxic plants. Any help, suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

    I recently saw some tension rod plant stands on Amazon that go from floor to ceiling that might be worth the search. As long as there’s nothing close by for kitties to get higher and be tempted to snack lol I wish you lots of good luck on your plant journey restart!!

    I resorted to hanging things from the ceiling, terrariums, and plants in rooms with the door shut. Best of luck lol

      My only problem with hanging plants is that I have vaulted ceilings! I picked up some wall hangars and hope they will do the trick.

    I personally either hang mine or have them on a floating shelf or shelves that are just out of their reach and it seems to work. I keep the pet safe plants in places they can reach and they do nibble those but not to an extent that it seems to hurt the plant and it keeps them from trying to reach other ones that aren’t safe

    I also have two plant loving cats and my suggestion is to, yes, hang plants, put the plants on high shelves, and have a room where the door is closed so the cats can’t get to it. That is what I’ve done

    I have a bunch of corner shelves. Just big enough for the plants but no space for a cat to jump on if they tried. These work well! Got them on Amazon

    My cats are scared of aluminum foil… if it wouldn’t make the house too ugly maybe try that! Maybe on top of the fridge where it is not super visible
