This has nothing to do with plants but This is my two month old baby bunny Niffler we have had him for about a week. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for harnesses and playpens with tops that I can put outside during the cooler days so that I can spend more time outside with him. And I was wondering if anyone else’s rabbits like the beach and if that’s a good idea to take him because we live near a beach that relatively no one goes to no dogs are allowed on. Yes I already know that rabbits are not supposed to get wet.

    So precious!! Congrats on your new baby. I haven’t had a bun myself, but I have seen foldable metal playpens. If you’re looking to be budget friendly or looking for something you can change size and shape whenever you want, you can diy one out of a wire storage cube set. They fasten together really easily with the provided pieces or zip ties. My dad made me a big guinea pig pen that way when I was little. I don’t know how sturdy a top would need to be for bunnies, but my first thought was a kid’s size fitted sheet over the top of the pen. Could give some nice shade and block the view of predatory birds. I guess it depends how likely is is for Niffler to try to jump against it to get out

      I thought about doing something like that, but he’s so small that he could go through the little squares if he truly wanted to because they can fit into really small spaces, but I really like your idea of a foldable pen. I’ll look up that on Amazon.

      Gotchya! Yeah it’s amazing what small spaces some animals can fit through. Better safe than sorry!

    OMG I have two 🥰 Theodore and T.J. I would suggest not taking Niffler to the beach. Rabbits can’t get wet and sand goes up their noses. For harnesses I would get a ‘wrap around’ you can’t have any pressure on their neck so dog harnesses don’t work. The pen that mullein sent is a good one. My rabbit Theodore loves to hang out in it. I don’t suggest buying it if your rabbit is an escape artist. My huge rabbit Theodore has never broken out of it but that’s because he’s never tried. My smaller rabbit T.J. Breaks out of it all the time so I’ve just resorted in putting him and actual fenced area. If you want to take them on walks with your harness I would not suggest going far. They tend to be home bodies and don’t like to move far from where they live So it really depends on your rabbit! Have fun!

      lol why thank you! Mine are a mini Rex silver fox. But I don’t think Theodore got the memo he’s HUGE. T.j. Is my black rabbit his name is short for Toe Juice (don’t question it🤣)

      Awwww he is so cute! Do you keep them inside or do you keep him outside?. Niffler is an inside bunny personly

    It’s not a huge space but my rabbit lives in a 4x4 puppy exercise pen without a top. I think I’ve seen tops for them- it might be a little pricy but it could be an option for outside. The beach seems like it would be too loud/scary for your rabbit. Rabbits can get injured in harnesses- I’d generally recommend thinking about anything you’re thinking of doing with your rabbit from the perspective of a prey animal who can get spooked very easily. My rabbit has had a mishap just from getting scared and starting to dart around his pen because of some sudden loud noises, and he’s an indoor-only rabbit. They like having places to hide, my rabbit usually sleeps under a big cardboard box that I cut two door holes into- they like having an extra escape option than just the one door (due to being prey animals).

      Yeah, I knew rabbits were pretty animals. He’s my family is a rabbit we’ve had since my mom was a kid, but we’ve never done anything else with them. I was also wondering if there any treat options/rabbit save foods that I could give him or any treats that I could grow for him
