Hi everyone šŸ‘‹. Iā€™m brand new to this app. I have a very naughty 6 year old black cat. He is a monster for trying to eat/bite my plants. He will even try go for a cactus (ouch) so for the last few years, Iā€™ve resorted to having them all in the kitchen which he is not allowed in. I have 40 ish plants and I am just running out of room for them all. Are there any tips for getting him to leave them alone and what helped you if you experienced this issue. Obviously I wouldnā€™t let him near any toxic plants regardless just in case. Iā€™ll post with a funny photo of my spider plant then vs now the last time he got hold of it. As youā€™ll see, it recovered beautifully. Thank you. ā˜ŗļø

    I feel your pain. I am your cat mama soulmate! I wish I could set up my plants throughout my house..floor plants everywhere, too! But nooooā€¦all of my plants are crammed together. Thanks to my Theo! You are not alone Cjbrownexx!

      Aww, hes so cute! Iā€™ve heard of placing citrus peels around plants but my boy Spike would probably try eat those too! He quite likes fruit. Thereā€™s not many foods that he wonā€™t eat. Even loves things like celery and mango!

    Lmfao I have the same issue with my plant chomper as well. Iā€™ve tried everything yet the little fien canā€™t help herself. Every night I have to move my desk chair to prevent her from going to town on some of my more expensive plants while Iā€™m sleeping. Itā€™s just going to be learning what prevents them from getting to it and preventing that (ie. moving the path to reach them like the chair for me) besides that I do what I can and remember I will miss the chomp marks when she is no longer with us.

    My cat doesnā€™t bother my plants EXCEPT when I am working from home, about 4-4:30, she will demand I feed her by chomping a plant near me. Can you imagine? What a brilliant, sneaky little pest she is. I have discovered that I can fix this problem by giving her a few treats to tide her over. Iā€™ve tried keeping cat grass around, and that works, but she just goes through it so fast it only lasts a day or two.

      Spike will eat anything in his path haha. Whether Iā€™m in the room or not. Heā€™s got a huge box of toys. Gets treats. Plenty of food but always acts like heā€™s never been fed before in his whole life haha

    I read about offering cat grass plants to have them going for these instead (my Hades also loves snacking them). And I'm intrigued trying it that way

    This probably wouldnā€™t cover all of your plants, but could maybe help with a fair amount of them: I made a DIY greenhouse out of a glass cabinet from FB marketplace (many people also use Ikea cabinets) that keeps my pets out of the plants that are inside!
