Hey plant peeps! So I’m new to the plant game, and I’m kind of at my wits end with regard to trying to deter my cats. I have placed citrus peels in the soil, and my little shmittens still chewed the leaves. I read about spraying the plant with citrus, which I did, then promptly read that was bad. Didn’t matter, she still chewed the plants up. What do you guys do?? She has some cat grass but she still goes after all of them. Unfortunately, she can get to them at each location, even though they are off the ground. What do you do?! Should I just give up and bring them outside? Attached are photos where you can see some EVIDENCE of the crime. And of the culprit.

    Perhaps try growing some oats aka cat grass? Your cat insists on a balanced diet with fresh greens so give her greens she can’t resist. Best of luck to your plant!

      I had the same thought process as you and got some to grow and some for them to snack on now. It still doesn’t deter them 😭 they just have both

      I think so too but I’m biased. Her brother is not as interested but still guilty

    Ypu could try sprinkling some cayenne in the pots. That's helped deter pets of mine in the past

    Your culprit is very cute lol. I have two Maine coons and they’re still very young, but they climb up a tower I have for my plants and the last plant they attacked was my crown of thorns and it’s highly toxic to people and animals. I ended up putting it on top of the fridge for a whileto see if they’d forget about it. It’s still sitting up there so I’ll let you know what happens after.

      Went and got cat friendly plants AND some grass and I’m placing them in places where my other plants are. Hoping she’ll just eat at those instead of my favorites!!
