I have three cats, just wondering what plants (besides lily’s) are an absolute no go? My cats generally leave my plants alone, but I’m very paranoid about them getting sick.

    So yeah, like you said Lilys of any variety, very dangerous, same with eucalyptus. Will kill your cat very quickly. Any other plant will most likely just make them vomit if they eat too much of it. I have some Calathea that I’ve donated to my 3 cats. One of them has a sensitive stomach and will sometimes vomit if she eats too much. Calatheas, spider plants, Peperomia, Hoyas are all generally safe. Things I’d probably avoid but won’t kill your cat: philodendron, rubber tree, tradescantia. I’d also avoid begonias, some people say only the roots are poisonous, but I wouldn’t risk it. For the most part, if you give them some wheatgrass/their own plant to munch on, they’ll leave other ones alone. Wheatgrass is super easy and quick to grow. I grow a flat of it and my cats love eating and laying on it. Hope this helped a bit. Added a picture of two of my cats for cat tax.

      Tradescantia isn’t horrible, but it can burn their mouths. My cat ate part of a leaf once and kept drooling, so I keep it out of their reach. You can also keep dangerous plants in a protective covering, which is what I do for my begonia and oxalis. Marshall’s has huge vases, I buy those and put them over my plants upside down.

    I’ve heard that pothos is also not cat safe but I do have one 😅 my cat doesn’t touch my plants tho unless she is trying to annoy me for food 😂

      I have a giant pothos in my bathroom, they leave it alone thankfully

      Omg that’s gorgeous mine is about half as big as that but I had to cut his legs off and propagate them because I didn’t water him enough and a bunch of the leaves died he is doing great now tho

    Your cat pictured is adorable!! There’s an extensive list on cats dot org dot uk - I honestly wouldn’t risk anything with toxic plants they can get access to - cats are fragile little guys
