these are some of my plants and haru. haru normally has zero interest in plants, which is why i feel safe having philodendrons. even when he’s at my parents’ house, where my mom literally puts her pots of flowers on the floor where he has easy access to them, he doesn’t even go near them. the thing is that one year ago, my roommate had a small plant in our kitchen which i believe was a parlor palm. haru DESTROYED that thing. he was always trying to jump up to gnaw on it and he would yack up little pieces of the leaves intermittently after sneaking bites without us noticing. note that we had multiple other plants and haru did not care at ALL. He Wanted Palm. what is with the palm?? does anyone know why he wanted that thing so bad? he doesn’t even like catnip that much. thankfully it was a nontoxic plant and my roommate ended up throwing it out anyways, but we still laugh whenever we remember it because it was so random 😭
