My biggest (and usually only) problem child is a China doll I have grown from a 1/2” tall seedling. It got super leggy last year while I struggled to find a place with enough light but not too much heat. I chopped the top to force lower growth as my ultimate goal is to turn it into a bonsai plant. That said, I can’t tell if what I am seeing on its trunk is regular corking or scale. Does anyone have experience with this specific type of plant who can give me some guidance?

I hope it’s okay, because it actually looks really nice if it’s not scale!
