I have a wonderful potted blackberry that has been giving me berries since mid-June. In the last 10 days however it looks like the leaves have been hit with buckshot. I have scoured the plant and can’t find a single insect so I have no idea what I am dealing with. It is in a garden tent to prevent large bugs and birds from eating the fruit but something is snacking on the leaves and now it appears to be going after my strawberries as well.
I’ve had similar damage from slugs and other nocturnal critters, so if you don’t see any pests during the day, you might have more luck at night time. It’s worth a shot to go out and look under the leaves at night time and see if you can’t catch the culprit! 🐌 Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in, but at the very least you can give it a check during the night or even twilight ands see if you find something. Hopefully she recovers soon, I love blackberries so much!!
