Hello!! I just brought home a wishlist plant yesterdayâanthurium pedatoradiatum. He is quite rootbound, and Iâm wondering if I should let him acclimate to his new space before repotting, or if I can I go for it? I can feel the roots through the nursery pot, and see them putting little bulges in the plastic. Also, thoughts on putting him in semihydro? Iâve had great success with my veitchii in pon, but canât find much info on the pedatoradiatum in pon. Thank youuuu!
Beware! I have had this beautiful red flamingo anthurium for six months now. She came with four beautiful red flowers which have since gone. Iâve been waiting to see if I would get more flowers and, unfortunately, the other day I cut off the largest branch because it had a dried tip and didnât look very pretty. Once I had cut off the branch I turned it on end and, lo and behold, there was what looked like a red flower just beginning to creep up the bottom of the stem. That just killed me! If any of you are new to Anthuriums, like me, before you cut anything, look at the very bottom of the stem and see if there is any coming growth on this stem that would indicate a flower in the future. The photo shows the leaf I shouldâve let grow, and thereâs a 2 inch piece of the stem that shows the beginning of a red flower starting to grow. The dark spot on the bottom of the stem was red when I cut it. Iâm sure that was the beginning of a new đș. đ©
I posted this on another page but just found this group. I just watered it a few days ago, am I maybe not watering it enough? Or is this a different problem? Thanks!
I thought Iâd been plant obsessed long enough that I wouldnât need plant ID help anymore. Lol how foolish of me đ I found this one at Home Depot. Following obvious logic (sarcasm) the plant tag gave me the name and description of the pottery it came rather than of the plant! Iâm pretty certain itâs an anthurium. Maybe itâs too immature to tell, but it doesnât seem like the right leaf shape for andraeanum. âWater dragonâ seems more similar but not 100%, and I would think unlikely to show up at HD. Anyone have any ideas?
This is probably my millionth post of this DP but COME ONNN look at how light splits down the middle too đźâđš
Is there any hope for it? I was trying to rehab it in fluval stratum but itâs been a month and I see no new root growth or anything, only the loss of a leaf
This one is sizing up nicely. Carla BVEP x Pap
Good morning friends can anyone confirm if this is an anthurium or Alocasia âŠ. I retrieved this corm at Home Depot ⊠and I know it was from an Alocasia but Iâm not sure which variation. When I took a picture my phone said lace leaf âŠ
I got ghis anthurium about 5 weeks ago. The older flowers are less yellow in the middle and have those bumps in the yellow part. Is that normal? I never had anthuriums before. The leaves look great and shiny, just not sure about what to expect in the flower part.
I recently bought a Anthurium Clarinervium starter plant and it originally comes in soil but I was wondering should I transfer it to fluval stratum since I had a lot of success with my baby Alocasiaâs that way đ€
My Verde x pap seedlings are putting out their second leaves too!! Canât wait to watch them get big, my Bigfoot x velvet mask also seems to be doing a lot better, a lot of roots and getting ready to push a new leaf out đ€đ€
The troopers trooping, still a long road to recovery but itâs putting out roots which is good!! (Kinda hard to see but thereâs a small root)
This was the most healthy Iâve ever seen so far⊠not any damage or spots or unhealthy parts⊠but once I got her home I found a tiny web across the soil that was emptyâŠ. I put her upstairs away from my other plants. What do you think I should do at this point after I let her acclimate? Repot into an aroid mix? I tried growing my 3 others in lechuza pon and they didnât like it, even after I let them sit in water a week. I even let one stay in water and the flowers were rotting off for some reason. Never had such trouble with anything going in pon, my alocasias do well. Anyway I just really want to know what I should do when bringing her down to be with my others?
I got my first Antherium!! This beautiful luxurians is from Ecuagenera. They brought a ton of beautiful aroids and orchids to sell at the orchid show I attended today. I saw someone leave with a luxurians that had leaves the size of a huge serving platter! It was amazing. The whole show was amazing. So happy to have this wishlist plant. I managed to say no to a warocqueanum that was likely less beginner friendly đ Next time though!
This new leaf takes âshine bright like a diamondâ to the next level, I tried to capture the sparkles but camera only captured a few, it looks unreal when you shine a light on it
Decided it was time I put my kos Hu X dressleri seedling in a potting mix, Iâm using perlite, worm castings, charcoal pellets, and fine pine bark, Iâll probably add a small reservoir later
Canât wait to watch this leaf develop, Iâve already posted it but loooook so itâs so much more orange in person like blood orange.
My dad gifted me this plant for my birthday and is from the grocery store, itâs been a month and she kept blooming for 3 weeks or so, I havenât repotted but I noticed there are a lot of new leaves in the bottom. Can you guys help me? I donât know if is better to upsize the pot or what type of soil to get, neither fertilizers⊠thank you for any suggestions!! I had 3 years since last seen my dad because we live in different countries so it is special for me. I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for context, it is winter now but not too cold she really liked that location more than other places I also donât know if it helps to take her out for summer or spring
Iâve had this guy not even three weeks, had a leaf hardening when I got it, literally a week and a bit later and it out a new leaf thatâs unfurling so quick! Canât wait to watch it expand!! In the future I plan on crossing it with my luxurian to see if I can get some crazy cool hybrid thatâs velvety and has bubbles like lux đ€
