Beware! I have had this beautiful red flamingo anthurium for six months now. She came with four beautiful red flowers which have since gone. I’ve been waiting to see if I would get more flowers and, unfortunately, the other day I cut off the largest branch because it had a dried tip and didn’t look very pretty. Once I had cut off the branch I turned it on end and, lo and behold, there was what looked like a red flower just beginning to creep up the bottom of the stem. That just killed me! If any of you are new to Anthuriums, like me, before you cut anything, look at the very bottom of the stem and see if there is any coming growth on this stem that would indicate a flower in the future. The photo shows the leaf I should’ve let grow, and there’s a 2 inch piece of the stem that shows the beginning of a red flower starting to grow. The dark spot on the bottom of the stem was red when I cut it. I’m sure that was the beginning of a new 🌺. 😩

I thought I’d been plant obsessed long enough that I wouldn’t need plant ID help anymore. Lol how foolish of me 😂 I found this one at Home Depot. Following obvious logic (sarcasm) the plant tag gave me the name and description of the pottery it came rather than of the plant!
I’m pretty certain it’s an anthurium. Maybe it’s too immature to tell, but it doesn’t seem like the right leaf shape for andraeanum. “Water dragon” seems more similar but not 100%, and I would think unlikely to show up at HD. Anyone have any ideas?

I got ghis anthurium about 5 weeks ago. The older flowers are less yellow in the middle and have those bumps in the yellow part. Is that normal? I never had anthuriums before. The leaves look great and shiny, just not sure about what to expect in the flower part.

I recently bought a Anthurium Clarinervium starter plant and it originally comes in soil but I was wondering should I transfer it to fluval stratum since I had a lot of success with my baby Alocasia’s that way 🤔

My Verde x pap seedlings are putting out their second leaves too!! Can’t wait to watch them get big, my Bigfoot x velvet mask also seems to be doing a lot better, a lot of roots and getting ready to push a new leaf out 🤭🤭

This was the most healthy I’ve ever seen so far… not any damage or spots or unhealthy parts… but once I got her home I found a tiny web across the soil that was empty…. I put her upstairs away from my other plants. What do you think I should do at this point after I let her acclimate? Repot into an aroid mix? I tried growing my 3 others in lechuza pon and they didn’t like it, even after I let them sit in water a week. I even let one stay in water and the flowers were rotting off for some reason. Never had such trouble with anything going in pon, my alocasias do well. Anyway I just really want to know what I should do when bringing her down to be with my others?

I got my first Antherium!! This beautiful luxurians is from Ecuagenera. They brought a ton of beautiful aroids and orchids to sell at the orchid show I attended today. I saw someone leave with a luxurians that had leaves the size of a huge serving platter! It was amazing. The whole show was amazing. So happy to have this wishlist plant. I managed to say no to a warocqueanum that was likely less beginner friendly 😂 Next time though!

This new leaf takes “shine bright like a diamond” to the next level, I tried to capture the sparkles but camera only captured a few, it looks unreal when you shine a light on it

Decided it was time I put my kos Hu X dressleri seedling in a potting mix, I’m using perlite, worm castings, charcoal pellets, and fine pine bark, I’ll probably add a small reservoir later

My dad gifted me this plant for my birthday and is from the grocery store, it’s been a month and she kept blooming for 3 weeks or so, I haven’t repotted but I noticed there are a lot of new leaves in the bottom. Can you guys help me? I don’t know if is better to upsize the pot or what type of soil to get, neither fertilizers… thank you for any suggestions!! I had 3 years since last seen my dad because we live in different countries so it is special for me. I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for context, it is winter now but not too cold she really liked that location more than other places I also don’t know if it helps to take her out for summer or spring

I’ve had this guy not even three weeks, had a leaf hardening when I got it, literally a week and a bit later and it out a new leaf that’s unfurling so quick! Can’t wait to watch it expand!! In the future I plan on crossing it with my luxurian to see if I can get some crazy cool hybrid that’s velvety and has bubbles like lux 🤭

Good morning. A very recently purchased plant I believe is in a too small pot. However, I’m wondering how large a pot it should be. I think I overwatered it as well as I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks but the soil is still wet, not drying out and now I have yellowing leaves. Please advise I’m new to this. Thank you.
