Recently moved my anthurium crystallinum into leca and check out the new roots! It’s got a new leaf coming in as well.

    Three of my Antheriums are in leca and root well in water, especially with the amount of oxygen they get, due to the leca. The only thing I would say (apologies if you already know this), try not to leave them in a reservoir of water during colder months, you might get root rot.

      Thank you for the tip! I actually didn’t know about the root rot in colder months with leca. I normally keep the water level below the roots but I’ll definitely keep an eye out towards the fall and winter!

    I generally let the root system fill out a 9cm pot before transferring into a bigger pot and switch to a soil mix before the winter begins.

      Thanks for the information! Real quick question while I’m here. Currently I’ve got an anthurium warocqueanum and an anthurium crystallinum in full leca, but I’ve seen a lot of different options on plant food/fertilizer for anthuriums in semi-hydro. Are there any particular products or N-P-K ratios you recommend?

    In the UK I use a fertiliser called 'Liquid Gold Leaf's, with an N-P-K of 9-5-16. It's good gear and can be used to any substrate
