I’m curious what people think will happen. I had a pterodactyl anthurium awhile ago. It had three big leaves that get really brown and crispy. I think it flowered… at least it shot up two seed pod looking things. Since the leaves kept getting more brown and crispy, one day about 6 weeks ago, I impulse chopped them off. I had already repotted it and the roots were really healthy. I had moved it to get more humidity too but it never seemed really happy. Anyways, the stump is brown now. I’m still watering it and I have it by a grow light. Chances that it will come back? Ps I’ve learned my lesson.

    Can you post a picture? Of the roots too, if you can. If all you have is a chonk now I would put it in a prop box with almost 90-100% humidity in moist moss. You want to soak the moss and squeeze the excess out like a sponge so it isn’t too wet. Put it in a closed container with a few small holes. (don’t pack the moss down, keep it fluffy). Stick it in a bright spot and forget about it for a couple weeks/month. You shouldn’t need to water it since the container will be closed and it’ll recycle inside. You CAN open it every so often for airflow and close it back up but I almost never bother.

      Thank you! Dangit, I convinced myself it was a goner and threw it away yesterday. The top stub and first inch of roots were clearly dead. The rest of the roots looked ok but I didn’t have much hope.
