This is my first anthurium, I’ve grown it from the biggest leaf. Really happy w how she’s sizing up!! The first leaf was starting to yellow when I got it but it’s gotten worse now not sure of the other discoloration, so I did a sulfur treatment last week. Any ideas? TIA! Ps the white speckles are dried sulfur.
Looking great! Sadly the two with the yellow around the edges have a fungal infection, the yellow halos with the necrosis is usually a tell tale sign of fungal infection. I’d chop em off. As it’s your first anthurium I’ll give you a bit of advice, anthuriums being aroids love humidity around their roots, so make sure you have a well draining aroid mix that doesn’t evaporate super quickly. Or u can shove em in semi hydro. Anthuriums are heavy feeders, they love being fed through summer and winter. However because yours aren’t in a cabinet I’d suggest feeding every other watering in the winter, or, if you start noticing fert burn, adjust it.
3 J'aime Thank you so much! She is semi hydro! It was like ambient 70% humid in my home all summer and now the weather is changing and the humidifier went back on today

Some of the yellowing could also be a sign of transport shock/low humidity since you’re saying it started when you first got it. Especially if this was grown in a greenhouse and then went straight to ambient household conditions. - How long have you had it for? And did you transport it immediately into semi hydro or gradually? - Did you acclimate it to household humidity when you first got it? - How high do you keep the water level?(anthuriums hate wet feet and are easily prone to root rot).
