🪴 Botanical Bekka🌵I just bought my first one an hour ago I'm going to need a lot of tips I can't get a good picture of it cuz it's dark how old is yours it's absolutely gorgeous

I'm not sure of exact age, he's in a 7" pot now though, so older guy. He's surprisingly low key. And I keep him in ambient humidity, which is about 55-60% mist up to 80% every other day.

So does the white coloring go away and turn dark green like yours as it gets older? I just found out mine is six or seven months old only how old are they when they flower? I'm going to put mine under grow lights I feel like I'm going to throw my whole sunroom under grow lights and a few days one half of them will be in the window the other half will be under grow lights LOL it's okay to have plants getting both at the same time right? What kind of fertilizer do you use the thing said to give it like one quarter strength fertilizer once a week and to water it either through the bottom or putting ice cubes on the soil 😩🧐🤷♀️ I tend to over missed everything my humidity gets up in the '80s with the humidifier n heater on too

The center line should stay lighter. But like any anthurium even plants of the sane species/variety can be different. They do not have a set age for inflo production. Generally after you see the first cataphyll you can expect an inflo, but the first inflos can often be small and don't always pollinate well. Yes, this guy is about 2' from a south window and under a pendant grow light. (This would only be an issue for anthurium that preferred low light). But always harden them off to it. I would never fertilize every week unless the fertilizer was specifically made for an 'every water' scenario. I fertilize every 2-3 weeks with either instant plant food, superthrive, or fox farm. I tend to rotate. Omfg whoever put out into the world to 'water' plants like orchids and epiphytes with ice cubes need to die in a fire. NEVER do this! It can cold damage your tropical plants and is completely pointless. I don't personally bottom water unless a plant has crown rot issues, but nothing against it.

Yeah I was thinking that the freezing ice cube water would probably freeze The Roots I wondered about that bottom watering always feels like I am depriving my plant of some nutrients from the soil I convinced my son not to bottom water his golden pathos, but now I'm wondering if it was okay after all lol what is cataphyll I'm going to assume inflo is flowers LOL 🌸 I just keep buying the plans I think are beautiful and then figuring out how to take care of them afterwards I've got way too many and I'm not even close to being none I did however by four things of grow lights that have four arms on each one they'll be here tomorrow so hopefully the plants will be happier

A cataphyll is what you normally see on a new leaf near the base probably most prominent on philodendron. Inflorescence is their version of a flower. My outlook on bottom watering is rain comes from the sky 😆 🤣 if for some weird mature reason the plant would naturally only get run off. I do use systemic when I'm not using predatory mites. And that does need to be watered in too. Also.... coul you imagine bottom watering a huge collection? 😮💨😱

This plant is going to want to be under the grow light right? I have it in a South window but sometimes my dragon scale alocasia, or my big red Earth star, and actually the monkey mask monstera sometimes we'll get a crunchy leaf from rays of sun coming through the blinds now if I turn the blinds up a little bit is not going to keep the light off of the leaves you think I'm thinking I should just go get sheer curtains and then I could just have the blinds all the way open

It may be too direct, it doesn't sound like you need a grow light there if they are scorching. I add Silica to my water. Which fortified the cells and stops a lot of scorching. But a sheer curtain would also help

I'm using TPS Silica Gold right now. A capful in a gallon of water, and using it every watering.

I use mostly my own mixes. Foxfarm base, ammended with perlite, charcoal, bark, pumice/akadama, gypsum, Mycorrhizal for tropicals/aroids. Then other mixes for other species. Also use pon and leca on a few
