Hello! My Orchid had been slowly loosing leaves over the last month and there is another leave currently beginning to yellow on the lower right side. I repotted my orchid about a week ago into a bigger pot because the plant was done blooming, but I am concerned 😬 any advice is appreciated.

EDIT: it was actually just a coating on the outside of the roots that could be gently rubbed off. I hope I didn’t aggravate the plant from doing that. The water it was soaking in turned orange/yellow after that! I think maybe it was a pigment in the potting medium. Picture in comments! —— Repotting a phalaenopsis orchid and I just wanted to check - are these roots healthy? They look so dark but it’s almost like a callous on it. The rest of the roots look green and healthy. I don’t need to trim these do I? What if the dark section is in the middle of the root? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I got a small phal a couple of months ago as a gift, it has been in bloom since I got it, but yesterday a small bottom leaf fell off of the plant and I am concerned about its appearance. The orchid is in sphagnum moss which is keeping it much wetter than I’d like, but I’m afraid to repot it while it’s in bloom! Any advice? Thanks so much!

Any suggestions on why my orchid leaf turns yellow in the middle? It started on the back of the leaf but has spread quickly. The other leaves are healthy so far.

So the flowers are coming to the end of their blooms as you can see, but there’s something else growing just behind the flower that’s starting to die off… it’s never done this before so any clues would be wonderful. Thank you x

Is there any bad difference between normal fertilizer and orchid fertilizer, would be orchid die if i used this on it? Ive used it for alocasias and even carnivorous plants, i make a tea out of it basically

I have this rhynchostylis coelestis that I managed to keep my cat from killing, but I can’t say it’s thriving. I moved it from bark to LECA, because I also overwatered it, and I usually just mist it because all the roots are above the medium anyway. I’m wondering if anyone has advice for trying to get it really healthy. You can see the leaves are a little mottled and some of the roots are healthy, fat and green but some are kind of shriveled and unhappy. Of course it’s never flowered, the poor thing. But on the plus side, it’s alive! Apparently this orchid is a good choice for mounting to bark, which I’d consider except I’ve never done it. What do you all think? What would you do if she was yours?

Does anyone know why this orchid’s leaf is turning yellow? I usually water when the roots are silvery and it gets good lighting

I received this orchid as a gift YEARS ago before I found my grove keeping them alive. The leaves are not thick like the others, they’re kind of Lily-like. I have noticed some new root tendrils peeking out and have been very encouraged. BUT Today I noticed what looks like RUST on some leaves. 1. What kind of orchid is this please? And 2. How do I heal it?

Anyone know what this is on my orchid leaf? It’s in full bloom and looks healthy. It’s hard and stuck to the leaf.

I repotted tiny. A second leaf is dying and a 3rd flower fell off. Well turns out, there were 2 orchids in 1 growing pot! I repotted with basic potting mix? I honestly don’t know hat I’m doing. Hoping to give these orchids the best life! (Orchid potting mix) *edited*

I repotted my orchids in January. All have put out new leaves and are now sprouting… Are they all air roots, or is the top one a new flower spike?

Would it be too much disruption on my moth orchid to gently life her outta her pot (orchid bark & spag) to see how she’s doing down below? She put out a new leaf over a month ago and I haven’t seen anything new recently so I’m wondering if roots are growing below the medium I can’t see. Would this be too detrimental y’all think? She’s not been moved and previously has been pretty happy in this location growing new roots and leaves. I think she tried to do a new flower stem in late winter but abandoned it so it’s just a nub.
