Orchid Newb here! my friend just sent me this as a remembrance for the loss of my dog. I’ve never had orchids, I’m usually more of a tropical foliage girl. Am I correct in guessing this is a mini dendrobium? They came stuffed together with an ivy in this ceramic pot. Any tips on light requirements? Should I risk repotting as the medium it’s in looks rather dense and soggy from what I picture orchid medium to be?

I’ve never seen a orchid do this before! Is it unusual? Two flowers grew on the same small stem and the flowers combined together! 🥺

Hi everyone I am new to orchid plants and care and I am struggling with my little one. It’s still in the same pot that I bought it in, and I’ve noticed recently that it does not have great drainage and I’m pretty sure the soil is wrong. I’ve read that repotting while in bloom is bad, but as you can see, I think she’s dying. What should I do???

Hi guys! I bought my orchid two weeks ago. I repotted it because the pot was too small and the roots were coming out of it, however i didn’t cut the flower. There is one flower that is done flowering and there were two that fell off and didn’t flower at all. What can I do to keep my orchid alive? And how can I propagate it? Thanks! Pics of before and now

Hey fellow Orchid Obsessors. Recently just went to groom the roots and do a repot and my boyfriend bought terracotta as he thought that was what a lot of growers use. Reaching out to see what your thoughts are on this?

These are my three orchids. We have had them for about 6 years just potted as shown. Not sure if I should repot them or just leave them how they are! Any advice is helpful! Thank you!

Help! A coworker put those orchid in my office to help it but it is getting worse. I don't know anything about orchids. It sits near a humidifier and is about 6ft from a south facing window. I know she told me it was recently repotted but I don't know the soil type used. I follow Plantas watering suggestions. Is this able to be saved?

My Venus Slipper surprised me this evening with 2 new blooms, one on the way, and a teeny tiny baby spike popping up 🥹

Looking for advice on my orchid’s new flower spike! This one has finally started growing a flower spike. However, it is bending severely (naturally, toward the window). I have some clips and a stake that I could use to gently coerce it upright. Any tips for how I might do this? Would it be possible to redirect the spike behind this leaf, like I’ve shown in the photo? Thanks!!

Hi I was wondering if anyone had tips for returning fungus and mold. I have repotted two of my orchids twice already and changed the pots and all of the soils each time. I’ve tried fungicides and cutting off all infected roots but they keep coming back. I first noticed the mold about two months ago. I was thinking of potentially moving to water culture to get rid of the mold. Is this a good solution or should I try something else?

Could these white dots appearing be a clue to as what is causing my orchid to die?

could someone help me please, my mom has had this orchid for 2 years, it’s been alive and thriving for all of this time. it is also planted next to a bonsai and an olive tree indoors by the window. they all started dying at the same time about the month ago. (right when we started using ac) i’m trying to figure out how to bring this plant back to life if it’s possible. she’s never given it fertilizer either. it is also right above of a vent

Is it normal for my orchid to have its older leaf yellow and get kinda wrinkly? I couldn’t remember if my older leaf did this last year, but is it usual for this to happen?

I’ve just noticed the roots of my orchid have grown through the bottom of the pot, should I repot now, although I might end up breaking those roots? It is also flowering at the moment. Any ideas?
