Five down, one to go!! They’re so big and beautiful!!

After years of orchids dying on me, I'm giving this my last try. I just couldn't resist. What's the best food/fertilizer for orchids? Any advice is welcome. I'm really hoping this will survive and need all the help I can get. Thanks

hello! i just purchased this orchid two weeks ago, it was labeled "dancing lady orchid" at the nursery, but i'm not sure what kind specifically. looks like it might be an oncidium tariflor lady? ideas welcome!

All the buds in the house are beginning to open! This is this orchid’s second blooming for me- there are 2 very low and compact spikes with 2 blooms each. No scent, but very interesting pseudobulbs and flowers.

I have three orchids that I am trying to save from dying. They don’t have roots and they are very dehydrated and withered. I am at my last solution, keeping them in water to help them grow roots. Two of them already started having buds and small roots. One is just stagnating. I am still hopeful that I can save them. Anyone went through with this experience?

Planta is recommending repotting this orchid in 4 days but I am new to orchids and not sure I should be repotting it while it is about to bloom. Any advice?

A little concerned, my orchid is wilting and I want to re-soil it with the proper soil but I’m unsure of how long I need to wait. If anyone has an answer, please tell me so that I can know what to do because I bought new soil for it, but I’m unsure of how to go without it or if I’m even able to hear it without shocking it. And what do yellow leaves mean on an orchid? Did I overwater it?

She’s blooming!!!! She wasn’t like this in the morning before work. Then I get home and there she is!! She’s beautiful!! And there are more blooms on the way!!

My very first orchid I am in love it is so beautiful but I worry I could kill it. Anyone have any good tips for beginners like me? I thought about getting a pebble try to place underneath so it gets some humidity.

Can someone educate me on what ‘SD-1’ means on this orchid tag? I went to an orchid show and here’s a picture of the display plant - Oncidium with an all yellow flowers. Does ‘SD-1’ mean first seedling?

Went to the Chicago Botanic Gardens for their annual orchid show. This year’s theme was Feeling Groovy- and they did such a great job, as always. Such fun displays. More photos in the comments.

Hiya! I got this mini phal from trader joes. I was wondering when do you guys normally repot orchids? This one is currently still blooming but it's in a weird plug.. im anxious about the root but I also don't want it to go into shock. Do you guys repot immediately or do you guys wait? 🥺 please help this first time orchid owner

Hi everybody, this orchid has been in the house for a while, and since it wasn't receiving care, I decided to take care of it and repot it, which I did yesterday. I gave it water, left it in some water, and took it out of the water. It's sitting on my window, and I did check the roots for gray roots. I came across Krystal with plants on insta, and I took her advice on how to take care of it.

Just super impatient over here, waiting for my buds to open. Thought sharing might help pass the time- plus it’s kind of interesting to see how different types of orchid spikes develop.

Aloha y’all! So I had orchids last year from my vow renewal and I killed them all. My mother in law was actually able to keep her 2 alive so she gifted them to me. But now I’m scared I’m going to kill them. Originally I transplanted mine and then put them in a greenhouse when the weather got warm. My mil kept hers inside the whole time, never transplanted, and didn’t trim. The roots are busting out of the pot so I desperately want to repot but I’m scared. I wanted to try clear glass pots this time around. In the pics you can see one stem is completely dead too. What should I do? Should I just let them be?

The girls are almost their end on this cycle 😭 I can’t wait to see them rebloom in the fall ❤️ I had to fully cut one and the other is holding strong to one spike 🙏🏻
