Most of my phalaenopsis orchids produce a spike then buds then bloom one at a time but I have 2 phals that produce one bud then it blooms, another bud then bloom and so on. Just curious if anyone knows why that might be and if that is also a normal growth pattern. They are healthy and in the same location as the others.

Iâm trying to find recommendations for potting mix and fertilizer. Do you have any you swear by?
Any input is welcome, Iâd especially love to know your reasoning!
Thanks very much!

Iâve been noticing my moth orchid petals sort of drying up and turning veiny. The petals seem to be curling as well. All my new buds have died, is there anything I can do to help it??

First repot. I know itâs not recommended to repot with a flower spike as that can interrupt bloom cycle but this one was growing by the time the first blooms from the store died and it was getting really root bound. Iâd rather lose one flower spike than it get more root bound that it was. I also found a sponge (death plug) in the center which I would rather know about than not and chose to remove. The only orchid media I could find is a little denser than what it was in but the new pot also has more drainage so I am hoping that it balances out. Either way the next few weeks will be watching to see how it adjusts.

A no ID is just as lovely as a pedigreed plant.
Iâve been waiting a while for this one to open up.

Hello everyone!
Was hoping someone could help me identify what type of orchid I have. My bf bought me her 3 years ago for Motherâs Day and I just cannot remember the type she is. When I look up the different types thereâs like 2 or 3 I think she might be and can never figure out which one she is.
Please help!!!

Hi.
My orchid has green leaves and some healthy-looking roots but it's not frowning a stem.
Some roots are looking a bit dried out. Do you think it needs repotting?
Thanks
Catherine
I would love any suggestions on how to encourage my orchids to develop a stem and bloom!!! I needed to cut the stem off one (my mini) and on the other two plants I broke the stems off when repotting!!! The plants are all very healthy and the mini is even growing new leaves. It has been over a year ( maybe a bit more) with no stems in sight. Is the only option for me patience?

So this might be just a warning post for others not to be as stupid as me.
Iâve been wondering for so long why I had one orchid doing better than the other. This one shouldâve died by now and somehow pushed through. Is it normal for orchids to come in soil and not in orchid bark? I couldnât tell due to there being some moss and a light coating of bark mixed in on top but CLEARLY the Orchid cannot grow and flow properly in thick soil⊠Its a no brainer for me, Iâm upset I didnât check before. Iâm going to soak this baby to try to get the soil off? Unless someone suggests something else sooner⊠Ugh the new bulbs do look promising so I hope itâs not the end. Itâs been over a year, I assumed it didnât flower due to poor watering (I just switched to filtered, our tap was hurting the plants). Fingers CROSSED.

Hi all, this is my miniature moth orchid I got from my kids! Iâm a a beginner and really want to take good care of this plant. Could anybody tell me what should I do with the two roots that are sticking out on both sides? Thanks very much :)

According to the Planta plan I am supposed to be fertilizing my moth orchid tomorrow. I am not used to this type of orchid pot. Itâs all plastic with no side slots to allow drainage, just a hole center bottom. Itâs still quite wet from the last watering. My first thought is to skip the feeding, as I donât want to drown the poor thing. Itâs still in full bloom so I donât want to repot. Any advice would be much appreciated!
