Brand new to orchids and I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. My plant was flowering and doing okay, but then I went away for about 5 days and when I came back pretty much all of the flowers had fallen off. Does anyone have ideas about what happened and what I should do? Can I still save it?

Why is the under side of my moth orchid sticky? Sorry the angle is hard to get.
im so what new to orchids and this was my first orchid. it seems to be doing fine with growing new leaves and it’s color is a good green and i can’t find anything off with it but it hasn’t had any flowers in a while. i think they fell off during the winter. somewhat please help and lmk if this is normal or something i need to fix. thank you!
HUGE Gratitude to those who suggested repotting my orchid! As you can see in photo #3, she is SO MUCH HAPPIER than she was a month ago! Thanks so much, orchid friends! My poor girl could use some help! I have had her for 5.5 years (most of it knowing NOTHING about plants) and she’s been incredibly hearty. After this last glorious bloom (which brought flowers that were green & purple instead of white & purple like they had always been before), her leaves which had been plump and shiny look like they have dehydrated even though I haven’t changed the watering schedule. Is it the end? HELP!
need a [lot] of orchid help here. had the bright idea to move my orchid from bark to water (after the blooms fell and i saw what i think are fungus gnats). immediately in the water, the bottom leaves turned yellow and i realized it need to transition. i’ve been doing water on and off but when it sits in water, it gets a little moldy so i clean with peroxide mixture and dry. leaves haven’t turned yellow in abt two weeks but should i just go back to bark/or let this one go? sharing roots dry and then in water. (there weren’t many bc of that little sponge thing nurseries use) any help appreciated. thanks!
Hi! I got this orchid 3 years ago. Despite following on suggestions, it does not grow new spikes. It does get new leaves in a regular basis. Any suggestions? Thanks!
My Brassocattleya ‘Yellow Bird’ popped out a lone flower. A great way to start off the weekend!
I love de orchids
Hello everyone, can help me ? Please This orchid is a gift and I want to a live please
so… obviously she’s not in the best of health. i got some advice to cut off the dead roots and try to grow new ones in water to monitor health. what are some of your best tips to keep them healthy? i have chronic leafers that go without blooms for most their life and all the tips i’ve tried before haven’t worked. orchid bark, well draining pot aside, what is the best lighting? distance from windows?
Hello! This is my first orchid. It was a gift last August from a grocery store so it came with flowers and I cut the spike after all the flowers fell. I repotted it about two months ago into a more appropriate pot and cut away all the bad roots. These top roots have been drying out though and I think the app’s watering suggestion isn’t frequent enough since the humidity in my home is relatively low. Do I need to remove these roots since they’re so dry? Do I need to add moss for moisture retention? It’s just in bark right now. I saw someone comment on another post about soaking the whole pot in water; would that help? It just seems like the bark isn’t allowing the roots to soak up what they need. Any help is appreciated! There’s no sign of a new spike growing and I really want it to flower again!
Okay, NOW is it time? 😮 (and what size pot?)
I have a few flowers even without good lighting.
I forgot to water her for about 2 weeks 😱😱 I really want her healthy so any tips? I can’t find online how to take care of Octavia so I would love so help on how to get her thriving!!!!
It has fully opened now.
My first bloom on the new spike is starting to open. I’m so excited.
My orchard is looking really sad and it has lost some leaves how do you get it back to looking healthy?
I love this time of year but oof! it’s hard not coming back with a new plant every time I run errands. A lovely little no ID.
I saved this little orchid plant from my daughter and I thought for sure she was going to die. She had root rot bad and only one little good root. That was a month ago and look at her now! Her first flower and more coming! Yay!!!
Soo I repotted my orchid in February. It’s been a while and it hasn’t fully recovered because the ends of its roots seem blackened and shriveled. People on Planta assured me this is fine and after accidentally waiting too long to water it which lead to its leaves wrinkling, I watered it. The roots became green but didn’t really plump up but the leaves condition did improve. I watered it yesterday and it’s the same deal. The roots don’t seem to be taking in any water because like an hour later they’re completely silver and still shriveled (not just on the ends) but my orchid isn’t dead…so is this ok? And I was thinking since I have fungus gnats on my orchid I wanted to bottom water but there aren’t enough roots for me to do that. Could I literally just soak the roots in water for a few seconds instead of watering the soil?
