taking care of my grandma’s orchid, my mom is somehow killing it so now it’s my responsibility. flowers are saggy, please help me!!!

My Oncidium Twinkle is starting to develop brown tips on some of the leaves. The brown tips are not crispy and dry like on a plant that isn’t getting enough humidity. It looks more like water damage and the brown tip feels mushy. I found this on three leaves. Some of the other leaves have some dark coloration (purple-ish?). What’s going on? Out of concern, I cut the affected tips off and dipped the ends in cinnamon. I also wiped all the leaves with a little alcohol on a cotton pad. No signs of insect pests that I can see. Roots seems healthy (I can see them in the clear pot; sorry no pics). Does anyone know what is causing the leaf damage? Thanks for your help

Hi fellow plant lovers 🌱 I’m new to orchids and may be on my way to killing my first one (sos please help 😭). I have a moth orchid that started dropping flowers (probably overwatered the moss). I did a rescue repotting and changed its soil to some wood chips I got at a plant store a while ago (not specific to orchids though). Since then, I’ve lost all the flowers, but the leaves are still healthy. I also see the stem is turning brown as well. What should I do from here to turn things around? Thanks in advance!

Consistently blooms for me at the holidays. A bit set back from a rough repot, but she still gave me 2 little flower spikes. I adore these tiny perfect blooms.

Celebrating the end of the fall semester with this lil treat:)🌸

I see a new spike on my Paph. It will be my 1st flower, I’ve had this plant since July from California I ordered a bunch of new orchids.

I had posted a few months back that my crazy orchid’s stems sprouted. One is 60” long the other 40”. Well she finally bloomed and I thought I would share. I wonder if she will do this again next time. I got her as a birthday gift from my sister 12 years ago. Of course her flowers were dyed blue a let down cuz I was expecting the same colored blooms every time. She was my first.

I would like to know what kind of orchid and how to care for it. Thanks

How would you deal with this orchid? Would you propagate these keikis? Or put some support and let her keep popping out babies like she is going on Maury? She has three big ones with two more on the way.

My grandmother has been taking care of these orchids for years, but is wondering why the roots look like this. Can she trim them? Thank you!

I love this time of year. Twinkles twinkling, my paph STILL in bloom, one flower on my key lime hanging in there for dear life, and a bunch of orchids in my collection starting to spike, or in bud. It’s like my orchids are saying… I know it’s winter in Chicago, but spring is coming Jen. Expecting my mini mark to give me a little holiday cheer in a couple weeks too.

Im not sure what to do… do i cut the two old stems off? What do I do with the seed pods and the one that opened
