Any experts on vanilla orchids in here? It's been on my wishlist since FOREVER and finally got my hands on her today. Here's a photo. I'm very excited and put it right up to my humidifier, removed any yellowing or dying leaves, and misted as soon as I got home. Was a little neglected with dry potting mix. I ask because I hear they can be quite difficult, and want to know if there are any tips or things you do in your care regimine. Thanks in advance!
The biggest issue I have is breaking off the growing tip. Luckily it just activates another node and off we go again. Otherwise I think it’s relatively easy orchid to care for. But I am pretty much resigned to no blooms because I don’t have the room for a mature plant. Maybe one day when Mr Pi builds that greenhouse he keeps talking about 🤞 Right now I have mine under grow lights (on 12hrs a day) with my cattleyas and dendrobiums. In the summer it’s outside (and loves the heat and sun).
