Hello, wondering how I should force my orchid stems to be straight up and closer together without causing damage? New plant mom and nervous about losing any (or all) of my babies.

PlantlifeIve found that my orchids are stronger than I give them credit for, of course don’t over correct but I think if you gradually move them how you want over time they should be fine, I would just use the supports to keep them up where I want them

It’s much easier to control the shape or direction of the spike as it’s developing, and I’d leave well enough alone rather than risking snapping them and losing the blooms- but that’s because I’ve had my fair share of accidents. 😆 If you really want them straighter upright, I’d agree that adjusting the supports gradually over a week or two is your best bet.

Makes sense, I tied yarn around them and pulled them about an inch closer for now
