This is my first time trying to keep an orchid alive after the petals drop. I pruned the dead roots and replaced the soil but it seemed like there were few healthy roots leftover. I used Plant Dr. to help cure underwatering and now the big leaves haven’t perked up but the center leaf emerged and is growing. Does this mean it’s doing okay?
I think it should be okay as long as the new leaf that is growing is plump and looks healthy. I’ve had a couple of rescue orchids where the big leaves didn’t come back but it grew new ones and they’re flowering now! So I say just watch that new leaf

The orchid should be in orchid bark and not regular potting soil. Hopefully your pot has holes or vents for air circulation. The solid ceramic pot doesn’t look like it does.
0개 좋아요 Thanka! I said soil but I meant an orchid mix with bark. It’s in a vented nursery pot in that ceramic pot.
