I’ve been caring for this stressed orchid. Placed it in plastic zip top bag with damp moss and I just noticed a new root growing and the leaf looks healthy. So happy!

You might want to be cautious about keeping the leaves inside the plastic bag. The leaves and stem don’t require moisture- in fact, it can promote bacterial growth. I would also suggest very gently removing the old dried remains of leaf growths on the stem. They can inhibit those new roots from breaking through.

Would this work with an orchid with no roots? Also with sphagnum moss

I’m not an expert but I think that if the plant has no roots, then it’s, unfortunately, beyond repair. You may try looking closely to see if there are any signs of life in the root and try this method. Good luck!
