Please help! My husband gifted me this orchid 2 months ago and I’ve already killed it. Will it come back to life if I keep watering it? Do I need to repot it? Any orchid tips are appreciated!!

Initially there were some blooms and buds but since they have all fallen off/shriveled up. The tip is now also starting to die!

It is a natural part of their life cycle to drop their flowers. You have not killed your plant :) It is also 100% normal for the spike to die.

ElliottIts still very alive, the bloom cycle has just finished. Keep watering it and hopefully it’ll eventually rebloom, either from the same flower spike or a new one that it might grow. If you’d like to look into orchid care a bit more, check out Miss Orchid Girl on YouTube.

I have an orchid too. It’s thriving. You didn’t kill it. It looks green and healthy. They go through that. Mine is on a water schedule here in Planta. Plus it gets light from my lamp all night. Seems to work.

AdriOrchids bloom only a few times a year! The health of the plant is more evident in the leaves/roots than in the blooms, so don’t worry! 😊 As long as leaves are green and sturdy and roots are also sturdy (not brown/mushy) you have a healthy plant! It might need to be repotted eventually into fresh medium if it’s in the store-bought pot.
